Good afternoon Professor,
I am contacting you to give you an update on the
progress of my research report. Just as a refresher on what this report will
entail: I am writing to discuss problems that solid waste and landfills pose,
and methods to treat it more efficiently.
In the research proposal I submitted a few
weeks ago, I mentioned that I would have already started writing the report by
the time we came back from the Spring Recess. However, I have not been able to
do that due to added responsibilities during the Spring Recess, which mainly
consisted of house duties I normally don’t factor into my schedule because of
being on campus all day and studying for exams that I did not realize were being held the day
that the recess ended.
Though I could not get any actual writing done,
I was able to more thoroughly review the sources I have already cited in order
to make the actual writing easier.
Going off of that, actually writing the report is all that
is left for me to do. I’ve done
everything I could around that in order to make physically putting the report
together as easy as possible.
Though, that seems to be the biggest problem yet. “Just
writing it” sounds very easy in theory, but once I actually get to writing it,
I begin to question everything a lot more critically than I had before, no
matter the amount of time I spent preparing for it. Before this, what posed as
the biggest obstacle was reading through sources and deciding whether or not
they were useful, since a majority of them were very long and had a lot of
information, which only could be solved by spending a good amount of time to
read through it all.
Since we do not have any class
this Friday (March 25), I plan to finish all of my homework for other classes
before then so I can devote all of Friday to write the report, leaving ample
time during the weekend to review and edit it. I will try my best to go to the
writing center next Monday (March 28), but in case I cannot do that due to the
Physics Common Exam being conducted that day, I will go on Wednesday, March 30
to get assistance in editing my report.
This is what I have accomplished,
and how I plan on completing this assignment.
